The Timber Promotion Council has released its latest publication in the Pocket Span Table Book, aimed at providing an on-the-job supplement to the timber framing standard, AS1684 Part 2 residential timber framed construction.

Containing a host of applications for timber members in six stress grades (F5, F7, F8, F17, SUPA17 and F27) detailed construction reference diagrams, stair tread, stringer and handrail design tables and useful appendices on other timber topics, the Pocket Span Table Book will be a valuable tool for the building and design professional.

The book allows specifiers to quickly and simply find the correct spans for the task at hand, eliminating the need for constant referral to the AS1684.2 span table CD-ROM. Additional information is included on timber availability and sizes, properties of structural timber, designing for durability, timber sub-floors, laying timber strip floors, timber floors and concrete slabs, roof bevels and factor tables, Australian Standards relevant to timber specification and timber association and organisation contact details.
