St. George Bank in Barangaroo has achieved the unique honour of being the very first bank branch (and the first retail fit-out) in Australia to earn a Six Star Green Star rating. The development has incorporated a broad range of sustainable elements to attain the rating awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA); the Six Star Green Star is the highest rating that can be obtained.
St. George Bank’s Barangaroo branch has been acknowledged for the building’s use of several sustainable products including building materials with a reduced environmental impact, reduced internal air pollutants and reduced water and energy consumption.
General Manager Ross Miller states that this certification further demonstrates the bank’s focus on innovation in creating a great working environment for staff as well as customers.
