Architects engaged for the upgrade project at Geelong University Hospital’s Bellerine Centre specified smart folding closure doors from The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) to help secure the new gift shop.

The architects on the project were Baade Harbour Australia Pty Ltd (BHA) and the project managers were the Geelong-based St Ferrer Building Contractors.

The architects specified ATDC’s FC1 300mm wide panel folding closure door for the gift shop application.

Key features of ATDC’s folding closure doors installed at the gift shop include natural anodised aluminium extruded frames with polycarbonate infills providing maximum through vision; seamless lock up achieved with intermediate up/down locking mechanisms; and ability to traverse a very tight radius 90-degree turn as it folds back and retracts to a joinery storage cupboard at one end of the premises.

ATDC’s FC1 folding closure doors have been specified at other university projects across Australia including ANU’s Hancock Library as well as Melbourne University Library at Southbank.
