The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) was recently engaged to install their FC1 bifold doors at the new WH Smith store in Sydney International Airport. WH Smith is a British based global retailer of books, stationery, newspapers, magazines and entertainment products, employing more than 14 thousand staff in over 1400 locations around the globe.

Given the massive opening on WH Smith’s storefront stretching to almost 53 lineal metres, ATDC’s bifold doors were found most suitable for the application, taking into account the store’s irregular curved shapes, sloping floors and requirement for ventilation. The perforated metal finish of the screen maximises the airflow. The bifold doors are available in a choice of optional finishes including Lexan, Polycarbonate, Aluminium and Tempered Glass.

Key benefits of ATDC’s bifold doors include ability to span large openings without requiring cumbersome removable mullions or costly motorisation; design accommodating potentially difficult obstructions such as multi-level counters and counter cut-outs; optional emergency egress doors within the folding door allowing for BCA compliance where necessary; and choice of natural anodised finish or custom powder-coating in colours coordinated to blend in with almost any colour scheme.

The versatility of ATDC’s folding doors allows their installation as internal bifold doors or even external bifold doors at commercial premises as required.

ATDC’s bifold doors are now available for sale in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and all regional centres across Australia.
