Tensile has secured the design and construct package for a 1500m² Jakob Webnet stainless steel mesh screen at the new University of Melbourne faculty of architecture building, currently under construction. Tensile is working with Brookfield Multiplex, John Wardle Architects and NADAA Architects from Boston on the project.

Tensile business development manager Peter Bottero explained Tensile was selected due to its commitment to innovation and comprehensive understanding of tensile mesh detailing and installation.

The stainless Webnet mesh will form a full height screen within the five-storey atrium at the centre of the building. The design from NADAA and JWA pushes the envelope in many ways and is exactly the cutting edge project one would expect for a building housing future architects.

Design and engineering is currently underway with the installation to begin early in the new year.
