Anodised panels from Symonite Australia were specified for the façade of the Michie Building at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Designed by Wilson Architects, the building stands out for its striking façade built using 4mm Symonite HD panels with a sapphire anodised finish.

Finishes selected for the aluminium composite panels included Matt Bamboo, Matt Curry, Matt Nebbio, Matt Kalamata, Matt Mocha, Matt Neptune and Matt Sublime.

Symonite HD anodised panels are put through a chemical bath to treat the surface of aluminium. The aluminium receives an electrical charge to increase the thickness of the oxide layer, thereby making the surface harder and more resistant to abrasion and corrosion. This layer is completely integrated with the aluminium, with the finished look delivering a bespoke metallic façade that adds value to any project.

Symonite HD and Symonite FR Ultra are the only aluminium composite panels that can be fully anodised locally, specifically to your requirements.
