Supatile DIT rebate drop-in ceiling tiles from Supawood Architectural Lining Systems were installed in the library of the All Saints School in Albany Creek, Queensland.

The refurbishment of the school’s library, being executed by AB+M Architects was being done to a tight budget. Seeking a creative, cost-effective and acoustic tile solution for the ceiling, the architects selected Supatile DIT ceiling tiles that not only offered a wide choice of patterns and finishes along with excellent acoustics and easy installation but also met budgetary requirements with its economical solution.

Supatile DIT is an innovative range of affordable drop-in pre-finished acoustic ceiling panel systems that not only enable rapid installation but also maintain full access to services in the ceiling cavity. The affordability of the range does not compromise on its effective acoustic properties or choice of high impact patterns.

Supatile DIT ceiling tiles also met the requirements of both the client and the designers in the use of environmental design principles as this product maximises Green Star credits and is fire retardant. Supatile DIT is also extremely durable and easy to clean.

The architect was able to achieve design flexibility while providing the builder with a ceiling product choice that was simple and quick to install, and within the budget.

Supatile DIT tiles installed at the school are 600 x 600mm squares rebated into a back grid. The ceiling design uses Cyberspace in Supawood’s concept veneer Supafinish Hoop Pine alternated to enhance the pattern, with an occasional smooth Supafinish matt silver tile to break up the pattern and form a checkered effect, creating a stunning effect.

The innovative choice of Supatile DIT ceiling tiles has helped transform the library into a new-look resource centre.
