Architectural drains from Stormtech were installed at the prestigious Crown Metropol hotel in Melbourne’s Crown Entertainment Complex.

One of the largest standalone hotels in Australia, the Crown Metropol features waterfall-edge and deluge pools, a 25-metre infinity edge swimming pool, indoor sundeck, relaxation lounge and gymnasium on level 27 of the building. Key highlights of the place include an 8-metre high space and the floor to ceiling glazed architectural façade on three sides.

Stormtech’s 200mm wide architectural drains manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel were installed in this space for the removal of large quantities of water overflowing the infinity pool.

Linear drainage systems ensure adequate drainage in internal and external wet areas, offering a neat fit and having the ability to accommodate large format tiles in a uniform pattern.

Wedge wire grates of the same width were used along the large windows to give a sense of symmetry. Drains on the poolside have built-in LED lights to illuminate the pool area at night.
