Hassel Architects used ribbons made from coloured and textured stainless steel to make a distinctive design statement on the facade of the building at Rundle Place.

A ribbon made of coloured and textured stainless steel supplied by Steel Color Australia was used to provide an iridescent and colour-changing feature on the cladding of the building, not only highlighting the principal tenants but also covering the air-conditioning plant and connecting the front facade to the office tower at the back.

Steel Color Australia facilitated the overseas production of about 270 sheets weighing 10 tonnes and their shipment to the project site.

He added that the project exemplified how coloured and textured stainless steel sheets could be used for both aesthetics and long-term protection of a building.
