Available from Staircare Australia , SC-R38 square mesh grating has been used to create an access platform at Sydney Aquarium.

The previous galvanised platform, which provides access to the shark enclosure, rusted as a result of high exposure to salt water. This posed a threat to staff and visitors as it was constantly under threat of collapsing.

SC-R38 mesh grating was designed and manufactured using isophthalic polyester resin with silicon oxide anti-slip grit, making the new structure particularly resistant to the high exposure to saltwater.

To ensure that the platform is not visible from the underwater glass viewing tunnel it was made with a black finish. For additional safety all steps featured a highlighted yellow strip.

SC-R fiberglass reinforced polymer (FRP) grating is available in 1200mm x 3660mm and 1220mm x 2440mm panel sizes in thicknesses of 13, 25, 38, and 50H.
