Morfurniture has acquired from Dexion the Speedframe modular framing system, refining its look and performance and providing a design and fitout service where required in all industries.

The company’s immediate impact on the market supports its push to make the product suitable for many commercial, industrial and domestic sectors.

These industries are at the beginning of a ‘minimalist’ era where the appeal of the Speedframe ‘steel look’ is made commercially more useable by the lightweight and strength of aluminium.

Applications already have taken place in offices, architectural designs, shopfronts, displays and showcases, exhibitions, retail displays, kitchens, home entertainment settings and bedrooms and wherever a light, strong and attractive frame system may be required.

“The stainless steel look is becoming popular across all industries as well as domestic markets looking for such styles in their living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms,” said Managing Director of Speedframe, Mr Kevin Fowler.

“But as this product is made of aluminium, not only do we achieve that exact look sought by architects, specifiers and end users, we provide it in a much more lightweight version, meaning it is far easier to transport and definitely a major advantage when being handled on stairs, lifts and during general installation.”

Since acquiring Speedframe from Dexion, Morfurniture has not only increased the efficiency with the product is supplied to clients, the company has taken the service a step further by providing a complete installation package anywhere in Australia when required.

The pre-finished components require no welding, no special treating or painting and require only simple tools to fit together.

Morfurniture can work from simple sketches to manufacture frame pieces to specified sizes linked by aluminium corner pieces – not plastic ones - to retain the desired all-metal appearance and strength.

“Apart from providing a lightweight alternative to steel which is just as strong, our response times are very quick and our willingness to work with designers, architects and planners is an added asset,” said Mr Fowler.

“Our coverage is Australia-wide, and the interest shown in Speedframe right across the market spectrum suggests that we have tapped a design requirement which has not been well serviced before.”
