Spantech was contracted to execute upgrades and repairs at the explosives depots located at the RAAF Base in Northern Territory.

Spantech had originally built 10 Explosives Storehouses (ESH) at the RAAF Base, including eight 13-metre ESH units completed in 1991 and an additional two 23-metre ESH units in 1996. Several of the 13m ESH depots include an internal dividing wall providing storage compartments to segregate the contents.

Spantech was commissioned in 2010 to perform a wide range of minor repairs and some major upgrades to the ESH structures. The upgrades were designed to maximise the life of the structures and eliminate or minimise the cost of future maintenance.

Spantech executed the project for Thales Australia (formerly ADI).
