SolarMax has installed its grid-connected solar inverters at the Yass Valley Aged Care (YVAC) facility in regional NSW.

Through its installation partner, Ygrene Energy, SolarMax has supplied six 15kW 15MT2 grid connected inverters and one 10kW 10MT2 inverter for YVAC’s solar PV system. The completed 100kW solar PV system is expected to generate an average of over 448kWh of solar power daily, reduce YVAC’s energy bills by over $52,000 each year and also lower the facility’s reliance on electricity from the grid. From an environmental perspective, the installation will also reduce YVAC’s carbon emissions by 150 tonnes annually.

The YVAC Board decided to invest in a solar power system after being impressed by a similar solar PV installation at the Yass Soldiers Club that used SolarMax’s MaxMonitoring and MaxMetro systems.

Rowena Abbey, Mayor of Yass and YVAC board member, explains the Yass Valley Aged Care facility has faced increasing energy costs over the last two years, requiring them to seriously consider a financially viable energy solution that would help reduce their overall energy cost. The benefits and cost savings achieved by the Yass Soldiers Club was a driving factor in their decision to appoint Ygrene Energy and use SolarMax inverters.

The investment was made using funds generously donated by the local community and the Yass Aged Care Foundation.

Gavin Merchant, key account manager for SolarMax Australia, commented that they were delighted to provide their quality Swiss-made solar inverters for yet another commercial project in Yass. He adds that Ygrene Energy has demonstrated their experience and expertise in helping customers get the most out of their solar PV systems; as a strategic partner, the company has reached out and educated the community in Yass about the advantages of solar power and SolarMax inverters.

Timothy Davaris, owner and CEO of Ygrene Energy, adds that Yass has seen a growing interest in solar power systems, and the Yass Soldiers Club installation has fuelled the desire for PV systems. The Yass Valley Aged Care facility installation was completed with no disruptions and on time. He also explained they have made SolarMax inverters the core product for all their projects as the brand produces world-class inverters that consistently deliver high energy yields and offer terrific value for customers.

Easy to install, reliable and designed to last, SolarMax’s MT series inverters offer a maximum efficiency of up to 98 per cent; are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations; satisfy the safety requirements stated in AS/NZS 5033:2012 standards (IEC 62109-1/-2) as well as the AS 4777.2 and AS 4777.3 standards; are accredited by the Clean Energy Council (CEC); and have a five-year standard warranty extendable up to 25 years.
