Sika ComfortFloor polyurethane resin flooring systems met the design, functionality and environmental requirements of the client during the renovation of the former headquarters of the L’Etudiant magazine in Paris, France.
The building was gutted in 2010 and renovated in 2011 into a 3,800-square-metre business incubator that can house about 56 companies.
The developer wanted the building to be renovated to state-of-art environmental standards while retaining its architectural interior character. In addition, it had to meet European standards EN 13813 and EN 1504-2. The flooring needed to be supplied in a very short timeframe.
To meet all the requirements specified by the architect, Sika ComfortFloor, a flexible range of polyurethane resin flooring systems presented as the ideal solution for the commercial building.
Sika ComfortFloor Pro System, which was used for the renovation, offered multiple advantages including very low VOC emissions (compliant with French AFSSET – 2009 protocol requirements); attractive appearance; sound dampening; excellent underfoot comfort; and slip-resistance.
