STACK Design was engaged by New Zealand manufacturer Methanex to create a stylish and modern design for their new Auckland offices.
As New Zealand’s only manufacturer of methanol, Methanex wanted STACK to design and deliver a contemporary working environment that would be representative of their global profile while still reflecting their local environment.
The Methanex global brand message had to be translated throughout the 395sqm floorspace, with a focus on reflecting the New Zealand landscape through the interiors and furnishings.
STACK specifically selected Botanica Planks from Signature Floors for their colour palette that takes inspiration from nature’s own colour book and expresses the beauty of the great outdoors. At the Methanex office, the bright teal highlights of the carpet reflect the beautiful Auckland skyline and Waitemata harbour, which is visible from the building.
For the breakout areas of the office, the designer chose Strike carpet tiles for a subtle touch of colour, with a matching blue highlight to the Botanica selection. Both the carpet designs gave a splash of colour, complementing the colour scheme without overpowering the space.
Signature Floors was specified for their broad product choice of fashionable collections and modern designs, which works seamlessly with the newly modernised interiors. Additionally, the products and patterns reflect the New Zealand landscape – a key element of the office design. In-stock product choice also allowed STACK to design without any restrictions.
