Retail design specialist Indesign was engaged by Frith & Laird Optometrist, Auckland to update their Manurewa store. The project involved refitting the existing interiors for better customer and staff flow, while also creating an inviting, modern and comfortable environment.

The design brief sought a hardwearing flooring product that would hide and resist soiling and complement the interiors with a fresh approach. Unlike regular commercial applications, the selection of carpets for healthcare facilities must consider several factors covering both function and aesthetics. Being a high traffic environment, healthcare facilities need a carpet that can stand up to the heavy use.

Indesign selected Botanica Planks from Signature Floors in three variations to meet the requirements of the busy healthcare environment. Botanica Planks can withstand the high foot traffic that these areas will endure, with the Extra Heavy Duty Traffic rating making it the perfect flooring solution for the application.

The planks also offer a timeless appeal with the chilled sea blue highlight creating a calming element to the space with no compromise on the commercial grade performance.

Why Signature Floorconcepts

Indesign chose Signature Floors because of the broad colour and pattern options available to fit with the blue colour palette they had decided for the store’s interiors. The merging of the feature colour between the three tiles enabled Indesign to enhance the feature walls with a striking solid blue that merged into the grey with blue flecks.

The client was very happy with the new carpet tiles due to the subtle use of colour as well as the feel and durability. The highlighted blue sections also guide customers around the store in a harmonious way.
