Schlegel designed a restrictor stay for retrofitting into awning sashes on a 72-level apartment complex in Brisbane.

Located on Herschel St CBD Brisbane, the Infinity Apartments is a combination of owner occupied and serviced apartments. Schlegel was commissioned for the project with the brief requiring them to design a restrictor stay that would restrict windows to 125mm to meet BCA requirements; stay open under heavy wind load and be able to accommodate sashes weighing 0-50 kg; and retrofit to existing windows that had been installed two years previously.

Schlegel customised restrictor stays to meet all the requirements specified in the brief. Key features include polished 304 stainless steel construction; unique gearing device that can be factory set (torque) to meet site specific wind load and sash weight requirements; and bespoke fixing plates allowing for easy onsite fitment and engineered stay arms to meet 125mm restriction.
