SAS International is first interior product manufacturer to sponsor Property Council awards

    SAS International

SAS International, a global manufacturer of interior fit-out solutions, has signalled its intention to establish a presence in the Australian market by sponsoring a category at this year’s Property Council of Australia’s Innovation & Excellence Awards.

SAS International will be sponsoring the award category for Best Office Development in the 2014 edition of the awards, which company director Andrew Jackson is a natural fit for the global corporation.

“Becoming a sponsor of these awards and supporting the Property Council of Australia was a natural fit for us as SAS International.”

“Whether a commercial office refurbishment or a new build our metal solutions provide building tenants with an interior which balances durability, acoustic performance, mechanical & electrical integration and aesthetics helping a building stand out from the crowd.”

The Best Office Development award celebrates the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished office development. In 2013, Lend Lease’s $500 million Darling Quarter and Commonwealth Bank Place development in Sydney (pictured) took out the category and fittingly the project utilised some of SAS’s products.

Peter Verwer, Chief Executive, Property Council of Australia commented:

“SAS International is the first interior product manufacturer to sponsor a category at the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation & Excellence Awards. These are significant awards which showcase the industry’s creativity, resilience and economic contribution to the community.”

The Innovation and Excellence Awards recognise innovation within the property development and investment industries, and this year sees 83 finalists competing for awards in 16 categories.

Chief Commercial Officer of the Property Council of Australia, Nathan Paine is notably excited about the 2014 finalists and believes the awards showcase world-class projects.

“The industry has put forward some truly world-class projects, ranging from the grandstand at Royal Randwick racecourse to the soaring tower of Brookfield Place Perth, and from the Medibank Icehouse ice sports venue in Melbourne to the Queen Elizabeth II law courts in Brisbane,” said Paine.

The 2014 Innovation & Excellence award winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner to be held on 17 May at the Star Event Centre in Sydney.
