3M introduces a new range of purpose built harnesses for the rescue market.

Home of the DBI-SALA and PROTECTA brands of fall protection equipment, 3M has released their new range of fall protection full body harnesses for the rescue/rope access market.

Purpose built to include all the vital features for rescue and rope access work, encompassing rescue and emergency services, industrial rope access, abseiling and tower work, the new suspension harnesses are available in the popular ExoFit NEX or DELTA II styles, providing all the necessary functions required by rescue personnel in extreme situations.

The fall protection harnesses are available in a choice of four models including three from the ExoFit NEX family and one from the Delta II range to suit all preferences and application requirements.

The ExoFit NEX harnesses provide the required comfort, safety and ease of use, while the DELTA II style is a more economical version of the basic suspension harness incorporating all the necessary features required for the job at hand.

Each harness model is designed for a specific application and has a feature set for different areas of rescue and rope access work. For instance, harnesses are available with a chest ascender to aid in ascending working lines, without a chest ascender as well as with an integral miner’s belt built specifically for mines rescue scenarios.

DBI-SALA’s i-Safe intelligent safety system utilising RFID technology is built into each harness to track inspections, control inventory and manage information. The fall protection harnesses meet the strict requirements of the AS/NZS 1891.1:2007 standard and conform to AS/NZS 4488.1 & 2 Twin Rope Access Standard.
