Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations kit was used to update the existing cabinetry as part of a charitable $100,000 makeover of the Sydney Children’s Hospital ICU parents’ hostel in Randwick.

The project, named Renovation Rainbow, was initiated and managed by Domestic Blitz TV show producer Brooke Hulsman and her husband Lee, who spent time at the hostel while their son Lachlan was treated for a heart complication. Though Lachlan passed away at just 10 months of age, Ms Hulsman was determined to give something back to the Sydney Children’s Hospital to acknowledge their help and support.

Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations cabinet coating system was used to update the existing cabinetry in the hostel laundry creating a durable, modern finish. Hulsman chose to use Rust-Oleum’s decorative glaze to create a wood grain effect before applying the durable protective top coat.

As the project relied heavily on donors for materials and funding, Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations cabinet coating system allowed Hulsman’s team to create a fresh, new look without the cost of completely replacing the existing laminate cabinetry.

Rust-Oleum is proud to have contributed to such a worthwhile project, commented Miriam Nagib, national marketing manager, Rust-Oleum Australia .
