Rubner Holzbau in partnership with Theca Australia designed, manufactured and supplied the roofing for the Stromlo Leisure Centre, an aquatic centre built in 2019 to serve the local community of Molonglo, Canberra.

Nestled below the Mt Stromlo Observatory on an important landmark site within Stromlo Forest Park, the new facility designed by Cox Architecture includes an eight-lane 50-metre lap and competition pool, 20-metre learn-to-swim pool, slides, toddler’s pool and splash park, gym and fitness studio, café, crèche and swim store.

The entire roofing structure for the 5,400m² main building was supplied by Rubner Holzbau and Theca Australia, with the scope encompassing full structural design and engineering, shop drawings, manufacturing in the Bressanone factory, shipment to site and technical assistance during installation.
