A sliding wall partition system from Portable Partitions Australia has enabled a corporate office in Chatswood, Sydney to maximise the use of the communal space.
Under-utilisation of floor space is a reality in many Australian offices, especially when the modern world calls for flexibility and adaptability. A growing company sees a corresponding rise in need for more space for meetings and training sessions as well as breakout areas. However, in the absence of suitable partitions, the available space cannot be used flexibly for multiple purposes.
Portable Partitions was recently approached by a North Sydney based project management company on behalf of a corporate client in Chatswood. The office wanted to maximise the use of the communal space, which was occasionally used for company gatherings, by creating private spaces with sliding wall partitions. The client sought a movable wall partition wall-mounted on one end so it can be closed and opened easily, while taking up minimum floor space when not in use.
The StraightWall acoustic wall-mountable partition (fabric) was selected by the client from PPA’s range of flexible partitions. A semi-permanent sliding partition with a wall-mounting feature, the StraightWall has a telescoping mechanism that tucks away so that there is no excess panel, allowing the client to simply extend open to the length needed to get a straight wall.
Key advantages of the acoustic partitions also include a fully tackable fabric surface that can be used to pin materials for meetings, or mount AV presentation accessories; high stability to support attachments and fixtures; and flexibility for clients to mix and match fabric colours and finishes to coordinate with the decor or branding.
This Chatswood office needed a wall length of 8.9 metres, which was met by two of PPA’s 4.72m length partitions that extended from each side and met in the middle. Each partition panel stacks and slides behind one another, resulting in a perfectly straight line that cannot break shape. It can be partially opened or telescoped back at a desired opening space. It can also be used in a sliding door fashion when entering the room.
Feature highlights of these flexible room partitions include engineered acoustic panels manufactured from a honeycomb cell core, fibreglass sheets on both sides, and special acoustic fabric for superior acoustic performance.
The partitions were delivered and installed within three days of the initial enquiry, providing a quick and cost-efficient solution to the client.
