Portable privacy screens from Portable Partitions Australia were installed in a church in Ipswich, Queensland to minimise disruptions during the service.

The Centro Church had created a dedicated room to accommodate the needs of mothers tending to their young children. However, moving to and from the space during a service can be distracting and disruptive to both the churchgoers as well as the pastor in addition to creating an awkward situation for the mother.

Centro Church approached Portable Partitions Australia (PPA), the market-leading supplier of portable room dividers and mobile partitions to help provide a cost-effective solution for this problem.

The church sought a privacy screen solution that could be used to conceal the entry and exit point to the dedicated mothers’ room to minimise disruptions, while encouraging mothers to make full use of the facility. The brief also required the privacy screen to be portable so that it could be easily moved around the church for other uses.

The client selected the MP10 portable economy privacy screen made from a lightweight canvas fabric and steel frame, and designed to be easily folded down and moved on its 3-inch wheels.

Measuring over 2m in height and 3m in length, the mobile privacy screen provides excellent coverage while its portability eliminates any need for expensive building works.

According to Paul McCulloch, Lead Pastor at Centro Church, their initial requirement was for a product that could be used as a screen for the mothers’ feeding area. Having found a room for the purpose, they decided to use the privacy screen as a walkway to the mothers’ area, helping prevent distractions.
