Portable Partitions Australia (PPA) supplied a custom portable partition
to IGA Jamberoo to help them comply with new government regulations. IGA
Jamberoo used the partition system as a barrier to close off a liquor isle
during out of hours trading.
IGA Jamberoo was informed only three days before the new store opening that
they needed to create a ‘fixed and permanent barrier’ at the end of their
liquor isle to be able to open the store. PPA’s custom portable partition met
the regulatory demand thanks to its design flexibility, cost effectiveness and aesthetics.
PPA customised the partition design using polycarbonate panels for easy
cleaning while the grey finish was selected to fit into the overall store
design scheme. Key features of the custom portable partition included a lock
attached to the aluminium frame for security; and articulating hinges to allow
the partition to be opened and closed by the staff when required, and folded
away when not in use.
Carmel Goldsmith from IGA Jamberoo said they found Portable Partitions
Australia online and discussed the custom requirements and challenging
timeline. The team at PPA suggested a variety of options, costs and materials,
following which IGA Jamberoo selected the articulating screen that could fold
up beside the fridge, taking up minimal space when not in use and being
very discreet in appearance. The clear polycarbonate panels were
chosen for their neutral appearance, which didn’t impact the overall look
of the store.
