Panasonic Australia has announced three new models in its range of cordless power tools that are designed to be strong, reliable and durable for busy tradespeople.
The company has released a new Cordless Rotary Hammer that is ideal for powerful drilling into hard concrete. The EY6803GQW is very light in its class at 2.5kg (including battery), making it possible to drill with just one hand.

The EY6803GQW allows drilling concrete holes and fastening screws to be achieved with a single tool, and is ideal for lighting equipment, conduit pipe and switch box installation.
It is possible to change modes with one switch, regardless of the clutch setting level, from hammer mode to drill driver mode. A slow start switch ensures accurate drilling with a clean finish.
The air coupling hammer mechanism (cup piston method) allows fast hole drilling in hard concrete. Compressed air is used to power the piston, with impact power of 21.6kN. The tool’s optimal range when drilling holes in concrete is Ø3.2 - Ø 10 mm.
‘Digipower’ Cordless Impact Driver and Cordless Impact Wrench
The Panasonic ‘Digipower’ EY7270GQW and the EY7271GQW have a brushless motor with a microcomputer – this design maximises the lifespan of the motor, protects against overheating and reduces the amount of electricity used compared to previous Panasonic models. In addition, the life of the switch has been prolonged with an electronic switch that requires a lower electrical current, to minimise wear and tear.
Enhanced motor performance in the new models helps to minimise any increase in temperature during heavy construction work or long, continuous use.
Torque levels are adjustable to suit the work or materials – hard, medium or soft – to ensure a clean finish. The ergonomic design incorporates a white LED light, so it is easy to see areas for fastening screws even in dark conditions; a screwless cover and rubber guards to prevent damage to surfaces; a urethane cover to protect motorised parts, and ensure the unit is cool to the touch; and a convenient belt hook.
All three 12 volt cordless power tools have a high capacity 3.5Ah Ni-MH battery, with a charging time of around 55 minutes.
