Decking, tiling and framing products from Outdure were used to repurpose the rooftop space at the Victorian Legal Aid office in Melbourne. The previously unused 400-square-metre outdoor area needed to be commercially refitted to transform the space into an alternative meeting and recreation area for the staff.

The project required solutions with low-height capabilities to achieve a flush finish with the interior flooring. Additionally, multiple surface finishes, stairs, ramps and railings had to be integrated to complete the refit.

Gray Puksand Architects collaborated with the Outdure design team to use QwickBuild as a floating floor system for the roof. Outdure’s QwickBuild system would not only support and integrate with the decking, tiles and turf using interlocking hidden fasteners but also serve as the hidden structural framework for bench seating, planter boxes, ramps and stairs.

Outdure products featured in the Victorian Legal Aid rooftop project included ResortDeck in Sea Salt colour for the decking; Mineral exterior tiles in Oasis colour; UltraPlush Turf – Spring Deluxe synthetic turf; QwickBuild for the framing; and a range of Outdure fasteners and QwickGrates.
