Solar powered lights from Orion Solar used for Bribie Island pathways

    Orion Solar Pty Ltd

The Moreton Bay Regional Council recently purchased 19 EverGEN solar powered lights from Orion Solar Pty Ltd . The EverGEN solar powered lights will be used on pathways on Bribie Island in Queensland. The total project included luminaires, solar engines, poles and installation.

No electrical wires had to be laid so electricians were not required for the installation. The running costs of the solar powered lights will be zero and maintenance will be negligible. The solar powered lights used are LEDs, meaning the lifetime of the units will be up to 25 years. The only maintenance to be expected from the solar powered lights would be to replace the batteries roughly once every five years.

Orion Solar was chosen as the supplier due to the fact that all batteries, solar panels and electronic controls are enclosed in an attractive pole mounted housing. Some competitive solar powered light systems rely upon ugly ground level boxes to house the batteries.

Bribie’s new solar powered lights are environmentally friendly and rely 100% on renewable energy.
