The difference between OpenShutters made from timber and from plastic

    OpenShutters

Unlike Western Red Cedar, plastic shutters have to be made as small panels and need additional support to prevent bowing, sagging and twisting. They don’t have the rigidity and strength of Western Red Cedar.

However, Plastic material shutters from OpenShutters are suitable for a variety of situations, such as for:

    • Wet areas
    • Investment properties
    • Outdoors
    • Situations where energy efficiency is not an issue

Plastic material shutters can also be cheaper than timber ones. Plastics always have extrusion lines as part of their manufacturing process.

OpenShutters can also make shutters in synthetic materials for those who prefer. They have vinyl shutters, including the Open Coastal or thermalite, the Open Lite.
