OpenShutters supplied timber shutters for the main bar at the Kings Cross Hotel in Sydney.

Made from Rosewood timber, a Class 1 durability exterior timber, the shutters are built tough to withstand boisterous customers as well as exposure to direct sun and air conditioning. The brief also sought noise dampening qualities, which these timber shutters were able to address effectively.

According to the manager at Kings Cross Hotel, the aesthetic appearance of the shutters enhances the iconic building, and they are also performing to expectations. OpenShutters’ timber shutters have been installed in the main bar as well as a poker machine area, where the louvres are fixed.

Rosewood timber was chosen for the application for its high performance characteristics.
