Some are handmade and others are manufactured in factories. The finishes available include hand glazed, gloss, satin, matt and etched.
Ocean + Merchant point out that, apart from cleaning, wall tiles do not usually need any maintenance. Grout may become discoloured between tiles, particularly in wet areas. This can be remedied with a good clean and brushing a sealer in the 'grout lines'.
