Surecote 200HS epoxy floor coating from Nuplex Construction Products was used on the concrete flooring at the Krispy Kreme Bakery in Hyperdome, Loganholme to create a slip-resistant and hygienic surface.

Executed by resin based epoxy flooring specialists, Sunflek Surfaces for Lanskey Construction, the Surecote 200HS epoxy resin based flooring installation in biscuit colour covered an area of 300m².

Surecote 200HS epoxy resin based flooring is a 2-component epoxy floor coating that offers several advantages in various industrial settings. The epoxy floor coating met key requirements for the project such as chemical resistance, slip resistance, hygiene and durability including resistance to mechanical abrasion.

The concrete floor had previously been covered with glued down carpet tiles and the glue had to be removed and the surface of the concrete floor ground with a diamond grinder prior to laying the Surecote 200HS epoxy floor coating. Surecote 500, a two-pack trowel-on epoxy was used for the coving.

A fine 30-60 aggregate was broadcast into the first coat of Surecote 200HS epoxy to achieve the required slip resistance, with a final coat of the same epoxy applied the following day. Sunflek Surfaces, the contractor took four days to prepare and apply the epoxy floor coating.

The final Surecote 200HS epoxy floor coatings were completed over the weekend allowing construction work to continue uninterrupted the following week.
