Nullifire thin film intumescent coating was the product of choice for the construction works at the brand new Air New Zealand lounge in Brisbane International Airport.

The $45-million upgrade to the Brisbane Airport was formally opened by The Hon. Warren Truss MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development in October 2015. Nullifire was a proud contributor to the project with their thin film intumescent fireproofing product from the SC 900 Series specified for construction works in the Air New Zealand lounge.

Nullifire was approached early in the development of the airport to detail a solution that would meet several criteria for construction within the Air New Zealand lounge. The product needed to be applied on-site without impacting the work of other tradespeople; could meet a 2-hour FRL; was compatible with a range of top coats; and was also cost-effective.

Nullifire’s SC 902 thin film intumescent coating met all the criteria to the satisfaction of the builders; once applied, the solution would allow other trades to work with the columns and beams after just 24 hours. Nullifire was contracted to complete the application at night, which was facilitated by the easy application process.

Nullifire completed the work within the designated timeframe and was invited back to see the lounge upon completion. The lounge is an exceptional space for international travellers to relax before their flight.
