Danone Innovation Centre, a life sciences research centre based in Utrecht, Netherlands sought a flooring solution that would contribute to a four star BREEAM certification for the building. The research centre additionally wanted the flooring to address underfoot comfort and acoustics considerations in the open work environment.

Opened in 2013, this life sciences innovation centre is dedicated to developing new product concepts for Early Life and Medical Nutrition. The centre develops formulas with health benefits for vulnerable consumers having specialised nutritional needs.

The architect/designer architectenbureau cepezed b.v., Delft N-Interieurarchitecten, Maastricht chose noraplan signa acoustic in colours 2784 and 2787 for the research centre’s flooring. The installation was executed by Erkamp projectservice B.V., Heiloo in early 2013.

Interior architect Chris Pachen explained that they selected nora rubber flooring because it was a sustainable solution with BREEAM approval, and also delivered excellent acoustics.
