Moddex was engaged to manufacture and supply industrial handrails for the Grenfell Wastewater Treatment Plant in Grenfell, NSW.

The $12.3-million Grenfell treatment plant is a state-of-the-art facility built to replace an ageing system next door. Located 370km west of Sydney, the new facility will modernise Grenfell’s sewerage treatment infrastructure with new and efficient technology to recycle wastewater, and replace the current plant that served the local community for over 80 years.

Working in partnership with Sarbico Engineering, a Cowra-based company specialising in precast concrete and steel fabrication, Moddex supplied over 280 metres of Tuffrail industrial handrails throughout the wastewater treatment plant.

Having worked on several large-scale industrial projects, the Moddex in-house team used their proven expertise to quickly manufacture Tuffrail TR20 and TR25 industrial handrails for the water treatment plant.

Moddex’s Tuffrail delivers AS 1657.2018 and NZS 1657.1992 compliant protection for workers across mezzanines, stairs, service platforms, walkways and fall edges.

Lightweight, incredibly robust and corrosion resistant, the prefabricated Tuffrail made the entire installation process easy for Sarbico installers.

“Choosing the Tuffrail pre-assembled handrail helped free up the Sarbico fabricators who were working on delivering structural elements of the treatment plant,” said project consultant Jason Hawkins.

Tuffrail industrial handrails - Your first choice in barrier safety

Every day, industrial workers across Australia and New Zealand rely on Tuffrail to stay safe while doing their job at facilities with elevated platforms and walkways. Not only are Moddex’s barrier systems simple to install but the handrails also dramatically minimise risk and give staff complete confidence regardless of the height.
