MiTek Australia ’s 20/20 program gives the viewer fully rotational 3D visualisation as well as accurate details and estimation of complex designs.
An example of commercial timber engineering can be found in the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra. The design is a free-flowing, predominately open-plan structure. The biggest trusses measured 15.1m long ‘tip-to-tip’. These large trusses were used to build ‘pods’ 4.8m wide. Each ‘pod’ consisted of five, evenly spaced, oversized trusses (1.8m high at the apex). The pods (54 in total) were built in licensed MiTek Australia fabricator: Truss Me’s yard and then shipped on-site.
