MiTek Australia  specialise in complex projects. One such example of that is the large home in Toorak, a 290sqm mansion. The mansion included: 5 bedrooms upstairs (all with walk-in robes and ensuites), and all accessed through a large stairway leading up from a 5mx11m void reception area. The ceiling heights are 3.4m downstairs and 3.3m upstairs.

The main large-span trusses were 16.16m long and had to be craned into position on-site. There were 384 trusses in total but the sheer dimensions of these meant that over 18m3 of timber and 4500 gang-nail plates were needed for the job.

Some complex truss design elements were also needed to be factored into the job. For this, a 6.5mx12m services platform in the middle of the roof was utilised. MiTek 20/20 software was used for estimating and detailing the design.
