The new Ombelico creative display systems, available from mei + picchi in Australia, have been designed by ALU in collaboration with Milan based designer Marc Sadler, renowned for his appliance, lighting, and furniture designs, and the first ski boots made in thermo plastic material. Ombelico is a modular system that consists of 400mm square cubes manufactured from recyclable PP-WPC. This innovative material combines recycled MDF with polypropylene, giving Ombelico the appearance of wood, but with the high performance of plastic material.

Available in natural or black finishes, the Ombelico cube blends well into most retail, commercial and domestic environments due to its elegant simplicity and ecological design. Multiple cubes can be stacked in any configuration and tied together as a unit with a black fastening belt for a strong visual impact. Additionally, these modular creative display systems are compatible with ALU’s varied merchandising systems, making them most suited to adaptable retail and commercial displays.

mei + picchi have been collaborating with ALU Italy since the early 1990s, continually evolving over this time. This partnership offers a multitude of unique merchandising systems and fixtures to retailers, designers and architects internationally.
