Key elements of the new Sydney Water HQ fit out in Parramatta were designed and manufactured by Maxton Fox , with a focus on making the project as environmentally sustainable as possible.
Maxton Fox contributed to the initial development of a specialised workstation system, before designing and manufacturing approximately 2,400 workstations, locker systems and general storage requirements for the Sydney Water HQ building. Custom joinery on the executive level was also manufactured by Maxton Fox, in addition to the supply and installation of toilet partitioning.
Maxton Fox recently obtained an ISO14001 accreditation, confirming that their manufacturing process adhere to the strict standards of ESD. For example, the workstations incorporate the unique MAXBoard pinnable screen, used the internal voids of infill/tile panels in workstation screens and were manufactured locally from reprocessed petro-chemical polymer waste product. This compound replaces MDF board which uses toxic formaldehyde resins and adhesives.
No VOCs are emitted by the lightweight MAXBoard inert, which is re-fixable, re-surfaceable, recyclable and reusable. The screens were designed on 100mm system allowing CAT 7 cabling to run through them and ensuring that desktops can be kept free of cords and cables. The worktops were made from GECA-Certified EO Board in Parchment from Laminex.
Maxton Fox also supplied storage solutions in the form of two drawer and one file mobile pedestals, screen hung metal bookshelves for workstations and lockable Tambour door storage units. All were finished in Laminex EO Fossil
