MakMax Australia recently won the 2013 International Achievement Award (IAA) for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications.

The Brisbane, Queensland based company received the honour at the IFAI Specialty Fabrics Expo 2013 and Advanced Textiles Conference & Trade Show held recently at the Orlando Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA.

MakMax Australia received an Award for Excellence for its Souk Okaz Public Theatre project in the competition’s Tensile Structures category.

IFAI received a total of 236 entries from 13 countries across the 29 categories in this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals who were chosen for their knowledge in a particular field of study or product area.

All entries received prominent recognition at the IFAI Specialty Fabrics Expo 2013 and Advanced Textiles Conference & Trade Show, the largest specialty fabrics trade show in the Americas. Entrants received additional publicity through coverage in IFAI magazines and press releases distributed to media professionals.

The International Achievement Awards competition is sponsored by IFAI, a not‐for‐profit trade association whose 1,800 member companies represent the international specialty fabrics and technical textiles marketplace.
