Roller blinds and internal sunscreens from Hunter Douglas Commercial were specified for the 8 Chifley Square office building located in Sydney, NSW.

Designed by Rogers Strik Harbour + Partners and Lippmann Associates and built by Mirvac Constructions, the building required multifunctional window coverings that could address the complexities of solar control and also maximise the entry of natural light to create light-filled workspaces.

Roller blinds selected for the application were made using Screen Nature fabric that was not only visually appealing but also achieved the primary objectives of maximising natural light while being environmentally sound and catering to 8 Chifley’s multidisciplinary uses.

The Screen Nature fabric is superior to conventional PVC and polyester fibre fabrics, thanks to advantages such as excellent fire resistant properties with a fire rating of M1; very low smoke emissions; GREENGUARD certification; Sanitized treated fabric; and meeting the certification requirements set by OEKO-TEX for the exclusion of harmful substances.

Hunter Douglas products used in the project included linked motorised sunscreen roller blinds using Screen Nature fabric, and linked motorised blockout roller blinds using Matrix fabric.
