The Laminex Group has laid down a new laminate flooring option, with the arrival this month of Formica Flooring.

Formica Flooring provides the classic look of timber with a contemporary edge. European styling and up-to-the-minute technology means it is easy to install, highly durable and simple to maintain.

“Formica Flooring is built tough. It is actually tougher than a solid timber floor and extremely resistant to wear, scratches, stains and cigarette burns,” communications manager Jo-anne Tierney says.

Formica Flooring features a range of four flooring thicknesses, in 6mm, 7mm, 8mm and 12mm, making it the most comprehensive available.

Within these thicknesses, the collection has an extensive range of 17 timber-look colours across four striking finishes: from the smooth surface of Velvet to the woodgrain texture of Registered Embossed.

Formica Flooring is reportedly a renovator’s delight with its fast and effective Forma-Lock™ locking system, which locks panels together in all directions. This creates the strongest join of any system in the world – with a locking strength 40 per cent stronger than standard click locks.

“It’s so simple to lay, you can do-it-yourself and there are no messy glues or tools, other than a saw, to contend with,” Tierney says. “The panels go straight down over most hard surfaces and can be walked on straight away.”

Formica Flooring is an environmentally friendly product made from the remnants and waste wood fibre generated from the timber milling industry. It is completely recycled and contains no dioxins, PCPs or harmful chemicals, according to Laminex.
