The design team working on Novotel Canberra’s upgrade chose the Clipwall wall lining system from Laminex to complete the job quickly while ensuring an aesthetic, durable and low maintenance refurbishment.
Located in the heart of Canberra’s business district, Novotel Canberra hosts various corporate events, functions and conferences. The upgrade project was centred on renovations to the conference and boardroom facilities, and was undertaken to accommodate the growing number of business professionals using the hotel’s hospitality services. The refurbishment sought to deliver a fresh and inviting corporate environment.
A key challenge for the Valcore Interiors design team was that the prestigious hotel was also one of Canberra’s busiest. The brief required the space to be suitable for a range of events, accommodating up to 200 people. The selected product not only needed to meet the aesthetic objectives of the brief but was also required to be extremely durable, minimising ongoing maintenance.
Working with Renascent builders, the design team chose Laminex’s Clipwall wall lining system to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional objectives of the brief without exceeding the budget. By using Clipwall wall panels in the pre-function room and hallway, the designers were able to eliminate plaster jointing and painting from the project requirements while ensuring a durable and virtually seamless solution with pre-finished panels. Almost 100 Clipwall panels were also installed throughout the conference rooms and boardroom facilities.
The Novotel Canberra now boasts a sleek new look for its business travellers and offers more space to host a greater number of events.
