Kingspan Insulation has introduced a new wall insulation system
featuring vapour permeability to prevent condensation and moisture issues in
the building envelope.
Kingpsan’s AIR-CELL Permicav XV insulation system is a patent
pending new generation solution designed for applications in walls with
cavities, including double brick and brick veneer walls. Interstitial spaces at
risk of condensation need vapour permeability. Heavy condensation impacts the structural
integrity of buildings, and rectifying the problems can be expensive,
troublesome and even unsightly. A high level of condensation also affects the
building’s heating and cooling efficiency in addition to increasing mould or
mildew, causing damage to internal building linings and cladding, and risking corrosion
on metal fittings and conduits.
The vapour permeable AIR-CELL Permicav XV allows vapour to pass
through the insulation system, while ensuring excellent thermal insulation to
reduce moisture build-up. AIR-CELL Permicav XV technology is based on
micro-perforations in a physically cross-linked, closed-cell foam core,
sandwiched between highly reflective foil facings.
Easy to transport and install, with a roll weight of just 7.7kg, AIR-CELL Permicav
XV has a product thickness of only 5.5mm, allowing convenient handling in
awkward or narrow spaces.
Kingspan Insulation’s support services range from access to user-friendly
online databases of CAD drawings and installation instructions, to personalised
advice on appropriate insulation systems. A member of the Green Building
Council of Australia, Kingspan Insulation endorses environmentally responsible
product development, manufacture and usage.
