Kennards Hire  has recently expanded its network of branches that specialise in the supply of large generators.

This recent expansion means that 20kVA, 45kVA, 60kVA and 100kVA generator models are now available for hire across Australia, with some variation between locations. Additionally, 200kVA generators can be hired in Western Australia.

Customers hiring these large generators have the option of a fast delivery or self-towing of trailer-mounted units up to 100kVA in capacity.

The expanded fleet of generators meets a wide variety of needs, including power network support, building and construction, mining, local government, armed forces and events.

Nick Johnston Landscapes Pty Ltd recently hired a 45kVA unit while upgrading courtyards and outdoor eating areas at the Parramatta campus of the University of Western Sydney.

Project manager Heath Thompson said they required a generator which had sufficient power to cater for the needs of a concrete finishing subcontractor, as well as those of his own team.

About 5000 square metres of decorative concrete was polished by the sub-contractor, Honestone, using a power-hungry, three-phase planetary grinder, smaller grinders and vacuum units.

A 32 amp power distribution board facilitated the supply of power for this and other jobs.
