A 10-inch self propelled concrete planer hired from Kennards Concrete Care was used to remove a trip hazard in the car park of a major new development in Melbourne.

The concrete planer from Kennards featuring an attached dust collector was used to scarify the edge of a slab before a 200mm topping was added. A fall of 80mm to 0 was needed to align surfaces and avoid a trip hazard, requiring the depth on the planer to be gradually adjusted.

According to the head foreman, the self-propelled planer was the best option since they had an area of 500m² to cover. Walk-behind machines only suit the needs of small areas.

Kennards Concrete Care offers a big range of 8-inch and 10-inch self-propelled concrete planers. The 10-inch planers are heavy-duty machines designed for large scale removal of concrete coatings, tile adhesives and brittle membranes.

Kennards Concrete Care operates equipment hire centres in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
