Sutherland Shire’s Miranda Hotel has reopened after an extensive $3 million renovation with a new outdoor garden and a totally refurbished Carmen’s nightclub.
When it came to thinking about the audio system throughout the venue, Compact Monitor Systems Australia designed and installed a speaker system from Jands .
Managing director of Compact Monitor Systems, Bill Richardson, stated that JBL Control Series speakers are simple, easy to install and have a wonderful sound.
A total of seventeen JBL Control 24CT in-ceiling speakers are used in the bar, TAB and dining audio zones. Ten of the more powerful JBL Control 47LP and a couple 40CST subwoofers are used in the VIP area. Outdoor speakers were also chosen, with four Control 29AV’s in the beer garden with a retractable roof.
For Carmen’s nightclub Bill chose the JBL VRX Curvature Line Array speaker system as it’s compact, lightweight, and gives out a great SPL. A further three JBL ASB6125 dual-15” subwoofers, configured in 2.6 ohm resistance were installed under the stage in a centre cluster.
For audio control and signal processing, the BSS BLU range of products was chosen. The Soundweb BLU-100 has fixed configurations of 12 inputs and 8 outputs, fully configurable signal processing and fault tolerant audio bus. The drag and drop method of set up provides a simple, user friendly design along with a control user interface.
