Seven Chroma-Q Color Force 72 1.8m LED battens were installed at the Science Theatre of the University of New South Wales to provide wash lighting effects for various productions.

The Venue and Events department of the University uses the Chroma-Q Color Force to host a variety of performances including dance, theatre, community projects and award ceremonies.

Padaric Meredith-Keller, senior theatre technician explained that the theatre needed to replace its old tungsten cyc lights and move towards an LED option, not only to save energy but also hours of labour time spent replacing gels and bubbles that would regularly die.

Supplied by Soundcorp, the Chroma-Q Color Force LED battens have been performing flawlessly, running 12 hours a day during periods of high occupancy. Padaric added that the Chroma-Q products have great light quality, and also come with a good reputation.

Jands provided a demo of the Color Force battens, which was well liked by the department not only for the natural amber delivered by the lights but also their nice, smooth transitions. The LED lights are ideal for multiple types of applications ranging from subtle hues for theatre and opera lighting to vibrant effects for live events.
