Interpon Powder Coatings announces Denim Drift as the 2017 Colour of the Year. Selected by experts at parent company AkzoNobel, the 2017 Colour of the Year is a shade of blue that functions as the foundation for an inspirational palette of colours centred on the expected global design trends that will shape lives in the upcoming year.

Announced during the launch of the 14th annual ColourFutures trends forecast, Denim Drift carries forward the overall theme for 2017 ‘life in a new light’, which encourages one to take a fresh look at the everyday elements of life.

Denim Drift leaves a different impression based on how it’s used: When combined with lighter shades of paint in the palette, it has a crisp and airy feel. With darker colours, it’s more dramatic and moody.

AkzoNobel’s resident colour visionary, Heleen van Gent who is the Head of the Global Aesthetics Center, observes that colour is essential to everyday life. In addition to being practical, paint and colour can have such a transforming and uplifting effect on people and the places they spend their time, whether at home, work or leisure, she added.

ColourFutures is a demonstration of AkzoNobel’s leadership in colour expertise and all-round innovation.
