XYZprinting has introduced a new range of 3D printers that makes 3D printing affordable and accessible to a broader range of educators and home consumers.

The manufacturer of the world’s most affordable consumer grade 3D printers, XYZprinting has now released the $699 da Vinci Junior 1.0 in the market. Delivering value for money, the new 3D printer particularly focusses on educators, families and hobbyists. XYZprinting will also release three new versions of the da Vinci Junior model over the next year to reach a younger consumer audience.

Designed for user-friendly operation, the da Vinci Junior 1.0 3D printers feature an all-enclosed printing area and non-heated bed for a safe printing environment for first-time users.

Key features include zero calibration requirement; auto-loading filament system to notify users when filament is running low; one-click, fast-release extruder increasing convenience for users when changing or removing extruders for cleaning or replacement; minimal noise during printing, making it optimal for classroom or home use; and low environmental impact with the compact machine consuming only 75 watts of power and using new biodegradable PLA filaments that print materials at very low temperatures.

The da Vinci Junior 1.0 offers plug-and-play operation with no assembly required; allows standalone printing with a built-in SD card slot enabling users to print directly from an SD card without a computer; uses fused filament fabrication (FFF) technology; reaches print dimensions of 5.9” x 5.9”x 5.9” (150 x 150 x 150 mm), with product dimensions of 16.5” x 15” x 16.9” (420 x 380 x 430 mm); weighs 12kg; and features large cloud-based design gallery with thousands of 3D models.

The da Vinci Junior 1.0 debuts at CES 2015 and was awarded PC Magazine’s Best of CES Award and TWICE’s CES Award.
