Australian specialist air handling system company, GJ Walker has announced the appointment of Damon Walker as Managing Director.

Damon’s appointment comes at a time of major growth and development at GJ Walker, as the company strengthens its business activity in Asia and looks to expand current activities in Europe. The 43-year-old Damon began working with the company in 1993 as an engineer at a time when the company had just three employees. GJ Walker today employs 42 people.

Gradually working his way up to management, Damon’s thirst for knowledge enabled him to accumulate an intricate and meticulous understanding of the business and industry.

Of his hopes for the future of GJ Walker, Damon responds with lots of energy and enthusiasm saying he would work to continually improve the business through offering unparalleled customer service, products that are technically progressive and innovative, and increased web-based systems.

As one generation of the Walker family spreads his wings, another generation – Gary Walker, Executive Chairman – looks back on his career with satisfaction. Having worked in the industry for over 50 years and recently reaching a 40-year milestone as a member of industry body AIRAH, Gary can be extremely proud of his contribution to the HVAC industry at large.

On his son’s new appointment, Gary says that he is proud to see Damon grow into this new position, and looks forward to seeing him progress the company further.
